Trivia about President Corazon C. Aquino, President Fidel V. Ramos and President Joseph Ejercito Estrada
CORAZON C. AQUINO – She is the first woman President of the Philippines. She stepped into the presidency via the “People Power,” a strong force of courageous and self-sacrificing people behind a noble cause which is a change to a genuine democracy which united the Philippines as a nation. She was born to an affluent family in Tarlac on January 25, 1933. She studied at the St. Scholastica’s College Assumption Convent for her elementary education, Raven Hill Academy, Philadelphia and Notre Dame Convenrt School, New York, for her high school courses. She finished her Bachelor of Arts degree at the Mount St. Vincent College, New York. She was married to then senator Benigno Aquino. |
FIDEL V. RAMOS – Born on March ’18, 1928 in Lingayen, Pangasinan. His 41 years in the military were backed up by his knowledge earned through 3 masteral degrees – Masters in Engineering from the University of Illinois, Masters in Business Administration from the Ateneo de Manila University and Masters in National Security Administration from the National Defense College. After the rescue of the newly reborn Philippine Democracy from the six rightist coup attempts as then Chief of Staff and later Secretary of National Defense, he was elected President of the Philippines in 1992. |
JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA – He was born in Tondo, Manila on April 19,1937. He studied at the Ateneo de Manila and Mapua Institute of Technology. After two years, he stopped going to school and later at the age of 23, he joined the world of cinema. He entered the public service when he was elected mayor of the Municipality of San Juan, Metro Manila where he served for 17 years, He was elected senator of the Philippines in 1987 and Vice-President in 1992 where President Fidel V. Ramos appointed him as Chairman of the Presidential Anti-Crime Commission (PACC). He was elected overwhelmingly as the President of the Philippines in 1998. |
