HARRY S. TRUMAN (1884-1972)

The 33rd President of the U.S. Succeeded F.D Roosevelt. He accepted the German Surrender. On April 25 his telephoned speech opened the San Francisco Conference establishing the United Nations. Made a controversial decision to use the Atomic Bomb against Japan thus ending WWIl. As the Cold War started, US declared to combat Communism thru Truman Doctrine that gave way to Marshall Plan and North Atlantic Treaty. He fired Gen. Douglas MacArthur for insubordination over controversy on U.S. Far East policy.

MOTHER TERESA (1910-1997)

World renowned for her love of the poorest of the poor; a saint of the gutter ; a living saint. She founded the Missionaries of Charity and establishedhomes around the word for children the elderly, handicapped, lepers and Aids victims. She received numerous awards including the Magsaysay  Award and the Nobel Peace Prize.

JAWAHARLAL NEHRU (1889-1964)

First Prime Minister of the Dominion of India until it became an independent republic in 1950. He e showed the ways in the early difficult years of freedom as Father of New India. He as a member of the Aristocratic Caste and rejected it was an ardent democrat. Father and grandfather of two Prime Ministers: lndira and Rajiv Gandhi respectively.
