Trivia about the “FILIPINAS 2004” Stamp Exhibition – series 4, 5, 6

The “FILIPINAS 2004” Stamp Exhibition, which will be held at the SM Megatrade Hall, 5th Floor, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, celebrates the 150th anniversary of the first Philippine postage stamps. The 3-day show, from January 30 to February 1, 2004, will showcase Philippine stamp issues since 1854. The exhibits will show Philippine stamps from the very first set issued during the Spanish regime through the U.S. Administration, Aguinaldo revolutionary period, Japanese Occupation up the present Republic issues.

The 6 exhibition souvenir sheets highlight Republic issues related to Philippine philately. The bottom margin (below the stamp) of each souvenir sheet features some designs from earlier topical issues. Series 4, 5, 6 feature orchids, fishes & dragons
