The Origin of Dasmarinias
Dasmariñias was named after Gomes Perez Dasmariñias y Ribadeneira of Viveiro, Galicia, Spain. He was the 7th Governor and Captain General of the Philippines from 1590 to 1593. He was well remembered for fortifying Intramuros and building and building Fort Santiago. The town of Dasmariñias started as a barrio of Imus, Cavite.
