Design 1 features the two Icons of Democracy, Sen. Benigno Aquino and President Corazon C. Aquino on the cache and the many other expressions using the hands, such as hands clasps in prayers, a hand holding a flower, a rosary, iron chain and hands holding together as many of the people did 25 years ago.

“Ang Pasko ay Sumapit” is a traditional Filipino Christmas song. It was originally composed by Vicente D. Rubi and Mariano Vestil in 1933 as Kasadya ning Táknaa (English: How Blissful is this Season!). A version of the song in Tagalog was used by Josefino Cenizal as a marching song for “Ang Pugad ng Aguila” (Hawk’s Nest) in 1938. National Artist Levi Celerio also wrote Tagalog lyrics to the song during the 1950′s. The song is still sung today in various communities, especially in Churches both in the Philippines and abroad.

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office has been one of the country’s symbols of life and hope for the marginalized sector of the population. Because of their mandate to provide assistance to various health and social welfare programs, the PCSO has pursued humanitarian goals and objectives by raising funds through sweepstakes and lotteries since its establishment in 1935.

Lotteries have been thriving in the country as early as 1833. Under the auspices of the private enterprises called Empresa de Lotteria Espanolas Filipinas, the Spanish government conducted lotteries to generate revenues. With the outbreak of the Philippine Revolution, the lotteria was forced to stop its operations.

The Philippine Postal Corporation is coming up with the 50th Year Anniversary of International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) stamps which will be issued on April 14, 2010. It is classified as a “Commemorative” kind of issue with a denomination of P 7.00 and quantity of 110,000 pieces. Also to be issued are souvenir sheets with a denomination of P 28.00 and 7,000 pieces.

On July 12, 1980, the country’s president, Ferdinand E. Marcos, created the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) as a government agency. The Chairman was the then First Lady and Governor of Metro Manila, Imelda Romualdez Marcos. This LRTA confined its activities to determining policies, to the regulation and fixing of fares, and to the planning of extensions to the system. The project was called Metrorail and was operated by a sister company of the former tramway company Meralco, called Metro, Inc.

The Philippine Postal Corporation is coming up with the President Benigno S. Aquino III stamps, which will be issued on July 26, 2010. It is classified as a “Special” kind of issue with denominations of P 7.00 and P 40.00 and quantity of 350,000 pieces and 100,000 pieces, respectively.

The said stamps relive the historical moments of President Aquino’s inaugural speech and oath-taking last June 30, 2010 at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park.

One of the many Catholic traditions is the Marian devotion. We, the Filipinos, especially the Bicolanos, have that extraordinary, exceptional, and devoted love for Mother Mary — the Mother of Jesus and our Mother, too. We believe that she will intercede for us and will lift our prayers up to God. Thus, there is strong belief and unshakable faith that our prayers are answered through the intercession of the Blessed Mother.

She has been called many names in different regions of the Philippines. Some of them are the following: Nuestra Señora de Caridad to Ilocanos; Our Lady of Manaoag to the people of Pangasinan; Lady of Piat to Cagayanos; Nuestra Señora del Rosario de la Naval or Nuestra Señora de Antipolo to the Tagalogs and many others. Perhaps, one of her most notable names is Our Lady of Peñafrancia, more warmly called INA or Mother, to the Bicolanos. This intense devotion to Mother Mary by the Bicolanos can be traced back in Spain.

Although ozone (O3) is present in small concentrations throughout the atmosphere, most ozone (about 90{1104248511d637c6a51014dcaacb77de829b1de96a4faa7392b7bed9a15aa427}) exists in the stratosphere, in a layer between 10 and 50km above the surface of the earth. This ozone layer performs the essential task of filtering out most of the sun’s biologically harmful ultraviolet (UV-B) radiation. Concentrations of ozone in the atmosphere vary naturally according to temperature, weather, latitude and altitude. Furthermore, aerosols and other particles ejected by natural events such as volcanic eruptions can have measurable impacts on ozone levels.
